Counseling

Counseling support at our university addresses both the academic and spiritual dimensions of a student's life. We recognize that pursuing theological or professional study often stirs questions about calling, capacity, and personal circumstances, and we provide space to work through those matters thoughtfully.
Academic Counseling focuses on your experience in the classroom and online learning environment. Counselors help you understand academic expectations, manage workload, and develop study strategies suited to your learning style. When difficulties arise-such as balancing ministry responsibilities with graduate counseling or theology courses-we work with you to adjust schedules, identify campus and online resources, and communicate effectively with faculty. Academic counselors also collaborate closely with our advising team so that support and degree planning stay aligned.
Spiritual Counseling provides a confidential setting to reflect on how God is at work in your life during your studies. Many students come with deep ministry experience, seasons of loss or transition, or questions about the next stage of service. Guided by Scripture and Christian wisdom, our counselors listen carefully, pray with you when requested, and offer practical guidance for nurturing personal devotion, healthy relationships, and resilience in ministry or professional contexts.
These counseling services are available to students across all programs, from undergraduate certificates to doctoral work, including those studying at a distance from Eagle River. Sessions may occur by phone, secure video, or in person where feasible. Our aim is that no student walks alone; instead, each one has access to thoughtful, faith-informed counsel that helps align academic progress with spiritual growth and long-term calling.
