Academic Advising

Effective academic advising helps students steward their time, finances, and calling. Our advising services are built around careful listening, clear planning, and ongoing support, from first inquiry through graduation.
Degree Planning begins with a conversation about your background, ministry or career goals, and family and work responsibilities. Together we map out a realistic course sequence, term by term, so you can see how your diploma, associate, bachelor, master, or doctoral program can be completed at a sustainable pace. We always consider scholarship opportunities and potential credit from prior study or life experience.
Course Selection Guidance ensures each term's enrollment aligns with your plan. Advisors help you balance demanding courses with those that are less intensive, address prerequisites in the right order, and integrate online learning in a way that fits your schedule. This is particularly important for students serving actively in churches, schools, or counseling contexts.
Transfer Credit Evaluation is a careful review of transcripts from other institutions and, where applicable, documented ministry or professional experience. Our goal is to honor work you have already completed without compromising academic standards, often bringing you significantly closer to graduation than you expected.
A Graduation Requirement Review is conducted as you approach the end of your program. Advisors confirm that all requirements have been or will be met-credit hours, specific courses, GPA standards, and any culminating projects-so there are no surprises in your final term.
Academic Progress Monitoring continues throughout your studies. When challenges arise, we work with you to adjust course loads, identify tutoring or writing support, or explore temporary schedule changes. This steady, structured advising framework helps both new and returning students remain confident and focused on the calling that brought them here.
