Theological Education

Theological education at UCSS centers on careful study of Scripture and practical preparation for Christian service. Most courses are offered on CD/DVD, with study guides, outlines, and assignments. The courses take a verse-by-verse approach so that Scriptural passages are understood in context. Whether you are working on a degree program or simply want to have a better understanding of particular sections of Scripture the format will help you reach you goals from right where you are so that immediately application can take place.

You will learn sound principles of interpretation and consider how faithful exegesis informs preaching, teaching, and discipleship within the local church. The student will come to understand the contemporary application of both the Older Testament and the Newer Testament. You'll discover that Jesus got His preaching and teaching material from the Pentateuch and saw the Older Testament as foundational to understanding the Word of God. Your understanding of the Bible will reach the depths that God has intended for every believer in Jesus Christ.

Ministry Training provides structured development in core ministry skills: preaching and teaching, evangelism, discipleship, church administration, and pastoral care. Assignments often draw directly from your current ministry context, so you can apply what you are learning in real time.

All three degree programs (Biblical Studies, Christian Counseling, Christian Education), can be pursued through distance learning, with faculty available for academic advising, spiritual counseling, and project supervision. We also review previous ministry experience, prior coursework, and informal training to determine whether it can count toward degree requirements, allowing many students to progress more quickly. The result is a structured yet flexible path that leads to deeper understanding of God's Word and more effective service among God's people.
